On Monday, September 26, in observance of World Tourism Day, U.S. Ambassador Sarah-Ann Lynch invited stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality industries to “Rethink Tourism.” The forum provided an opportunity for key industry players to discuss opportunities for collaboration in their respective roles in preparing Guyana for a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient tourism sector.
In line with the U.S. Embassy commitment to promote an equitable, sustainable, and enabling business environment, Ambassador Lynch recognized the growing importance of the tourism industry’s contributions to Guyana’s future. Ambassador Lynch advocated for enabling online access to products and information and facilitating easier payment systems, which will further develop Guyana’s tourism industry for the benefit of all and be a driving force towards economic growth.
