Location: Pegasus Hotel, Georgetown, Guyana
Event: There was a fire at the Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown the night of August 5, 2018. Reports indicate some fire alarms did not sound and some fire doors were locked. As a result, some U.S. Government personnel, who were staying at the hotel, have decided to move to other locations, and the U.S. Embassy will be advising incoming personnel that they need to consider other locations until the fire safety issues are addressed.
