Fire Alert – Georgetown – November 28, 2022

Location:  Immediate area surrounding Grand Coastal Hotel, Georgetown, Demerara-Mahaica and Happy Acres Community, Georgetown, Demerara-Mahaica

Event:  There is a chemical fire near the Grand Coastal Hotel and Happy Acres Community, Georgetown, Demerara-Mahaica, burning since the afternoon of November 28, 2022.  As of 6:45pm, November 28, 2022, Guyana fire control is on the scene, but secondary explosions are still possible.

U.S. government personnel in the vicinity have been ordered to temporarily relocate, until the fire is deemed under control by Government of Guyana authorities.
