Supervisory Position:  No

Duties:  The incumbent provides security for U.S. personnel and facilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. Completion of Secondary School is required.
  2. A minimum of one (1) year of military, police, or private experience in the field of security is required.

OR

  1. Completion of Primary School is required.
  2. A minimum of eight (8) years of military, police, or private experience in the field of security is required.

LANGUAGE:  Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.  (This may be tested.)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Must be able to provide detailed oral and written reports and have basic computer skills.  Must be able to drive/ride and be in possession of a valid local driver’s license for a motorcar and motorcycle. (Driving test will be administered)

Duties:   The incumbent serves as warehouse truck driver, forklift operator and chauffeur as necessary.

Requirements

EDUCATION:  Completion of Elementary School is required.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years’ experience driving trucks, forklifts and various other vehicles with a safe driving record is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:   Must have a thorough knowledge of local traffic regulations, road systems and airport rules and regulations governing the expediting of passengers.  Must be familiar with the physical layout of the airport.

LANGUAGE:  Level III (Good working knowledge) English in Speaking/Reading/Writing is required.  (This may be tested).

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be in possession of a valid local driver’s license for car, van, mini bus and truck (Driving test will be administered).  Must have a basic understanding of the rudiments of vehicle mechanics in order to identify problems associated with vehicle operations.  Must have the ability to lift fifty pounds.

Duties:  The incumbent will serve as senior clinical and technical advisor to agency officials, Ministry of Health (MOH) where CDC Caribbean Regional Office works, implementing partners and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the planning and strengthening of HIV and STI prevention, care and treatment programs and activities.

Responsibilities include program development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting and close collaboration with partners to ensure that all research, analysis, clinical guidelines, procedures, and policies are carried out in accordance with program objectives and internationally recognized best practices and standards

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EDUCATION:  Doctoral level degree or host country equivalent in medicine (MD or MBBS) is required.

EXPERIENCE: Eight years previous experience working in clinical settings with HIV/TB and STIs service provision is required. Mastery of HIV/TB, and STIs clinical guidelines and best practices required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Comprehensive knowledge and experience in advanced HIV and STIs clinical care is required including comprehensive knowledge of guidelines, and procedures for PCT. Thorough public health and clinical knowledge of current HIV/AIDS and other communicable disease issues is required. Comprehensive knowledge of the host government (in Guyana) health facilities, and the Caribbean Region’s health system, in general, as well as attitudes and cultural practices, health care system and structures including familiarity with MOH policies, program priorities and regulations is required.  Good working knowledge of USG public health programs, strategies, guidelines, methods, processes and techniques used to plan, develop, implement and evaluate results is required.  Also, good working knowledge of team management techniques to plan, organize and direct multi-disciplinary project teams, administrative requirements, budgeting and fiscal management in support of contracts, cooperative agreements, grants and purchase requisitions is required.

LANGUAGE:  Level IV (Fluent English) in Speaking/Reading/Writing is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to analyze, understand and discuss new program design, management and implementation approaches is required. This includes the development of evaluation designs, use of reliable and valid instruments, and methods for data collection, analysis and reports.

Ability to lead project teams and workgroups and to develop effective working relationships with national and international working partners is required.
