EducationUSA is a network of more than 450 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the Department of State. Our Mission is to actively promote higher education around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and objective information about educational opportunities in the United States.
We assist roughly 25 million prospective international students each year, either in person, by telephone, through e-mail, or on the internet. Recently the U.S. Embassy Georgetown – Public Affairs section launched two separate American Spots at the University of Guyana Library- Turkeyen Campus, and the National Library. The American Spots saw a collection of books being donated by Public Affairs to the libraries with significant material on studying in the United States being included. Among the material pertinent to EducationUSA donated were books on writing the perfect college essays, SAT application and test books, Graduate studies’ text and general information on being a foreign exchange student in the United States.
