Travel restrictions were extended to September 30 at Guyana’s airports, as noted in the Official Gazette. Eastern Airlines has sought special authorization from the Government of Guyana for additional commercial relief flights to the United States. Upcoming flights in September and October have already received approval.
U.S. citizens, U.S. legal permanent residents, and U.S. visa/ESTA holders may purchase tickets on these flights directly from Eastern Airlines at www.goeasternair.com. No advance approval from the U.S. Embassy is needed to depart Guyana. If you are seeking to fly INTO Guyana, you must receive advance approval from the Government of Guyana through https://www.gcaa-gy.org/ Repatriation Form. The U.S. Embassy is not involved in this process.
